How we're funded
The Dame Alice Owen Foundation
The core of our project is funded by the Dame Alice Owen Foundation (DAOF). The DAOF supports projects that benefit children and young people in Islington, and it is administered by the Brewers' Company. Find out about the projects they currently support here.
Funding from our local ward has enabled us to invest in resources for the project, for instance to put together subject boxes and club kits.
Every school that has committed to the project is making a contribution through the cost of cover for staff time to attend planning meetings and CPD.
The SHINE Trust
The SHINE Trust awarded Carole Kenrick a London Teachers Innovation Fund grant in 2016-17, which funded the precursor to Science for Life, The STEAM Hubs. This project was a simplified pilot version of Science for Life, involving only primary schools and focusing only on extracurricular clubs and CPD. Carole's experience setting up and running the STEAM Hubs informed the planning and development of Science for Life.
